What does “unheated” actually mean?
The vast majority of rubies and sapphires on the market are heat-treated to improve colour and clarity. An untreated, GRS-certified stone is exactly as nature formed it — rarer, more valuable, and fully documented. Understanding the difference is the first step to buying well.
